Hi, I’m Hannah, or the Naptime Scholar. I’m finishing my BA (Hons) History degree with the Open University and blogging about the experience.
I’m in my mid-thirties, live in Cambridgeshire with my husband and our baby daughter (born January 2025), and up until I went on maternity leave worked full time in research administration in the higher education sector.
I’ve worked full time and studied full time throughout this particular degree, but my journey with the OU didn’t begin in 2022 when I started my history degree – it actually started a decade before! (You can expect a lengthy blog post on this in due course) I’ve also studied history outside of the OU (again, post(s?) on this coming at some point!).
Right now, my studying is done mostly whilst my daughter is asleep – hence being a scholar during naptime.
I hope to use this online space to get a bit more in depth than I do on my Instagram about the modules I’ve taken, the workarounds and support systems I’ve put into place to ensure I’m able to study, and my future academic plans as well.
Thanks for being here!
